Davion Resal has been a client at Aim2Walk for the past year and a half. His progress is outstanding due to his determination and hard work. When he first arrived at our clinic, he could not stand on his own and was exclusively using a wheelchair to get around. After re-learning to crawl, stand and take steps, he continues to work towards achieving his final goal to walk. With the help of a walker and AFO’s (ankle-foot orthosis) Davion is able to walk short distances; unfortunately, Davion does not have any movement so far in his lower legs and feet. He will continue to train and participate in physiotherapy, but has reached a plateau with his lower leg. Davion has decided to try a procedure in Panama involving Stem Cells to help regain more movement. This procedure is experimental however very important for science and the possibilities for many people with Spinal Cord Injuries. This procedure is not covered through health care and along with his travel expenses it will cost over $40,000. Davions’ family have started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help him with his goal to regain full movement in his legs. Please help Davion with this procedure and you could also be helping science evolve for many others living with spinal cord injuries.
