There is a story written by Huffingtons Post about a woman posing in lingerie, who is also paralyzed. Rachelle Friedman Chapman wanted others to see past her wheelchair. She wanted to show that despite her disability, she is capable of expressing her sexuality within the comfort of her body.
At Aim2Walk, I’ve had many talks with clients about self esteem and confidence. Many clients who use wheelchairs find it difficult to even wear shorts without feeling self conscious. Self confidence is a battle for many people, whether able bodied or not, and yet each of us is uniquely beautiful and ought to be proud of who and what we are! It is important to love ourselves inside and out and to defy and challenge societal messaging of beauty.
Of course Rachelle is a beautiful young woman with a beautiful body. She is also pretty amazing to spread the news that she is just as capable of expressing her sexuality as anyone else! Check it out.
