Motivation and determination to accomplish most goals, comes from within. You must first WANT to achieve your goals, then push yourself to follow them through. Staying on track is not always easy which is why I like to seek inspiration and motivation from others who inspire me. I will be starting a monthly post on people who inspire me to keep motivated and dedicated to my goals and dreams. I encourage others to find something or someone that keeps them motivated and please share with me any inspirations.
“They ask why I push myself to the limit. I do it because I feel powerful, strong and tough. I feel at home when I’m challenged.” -Noah Galloway
These words are from Noah Galloway, a former US soldier. Galloway was only 20 when he joined the army. Three months into his second tour, December 19, 2005, Galloway lost his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee after driving over a road side bomb.
After a long stint in recovery and rehabilitation, Galloway became very withdrawn, depressed, out of shape and he turned to drinking and smoking to try to ease the pain. Nothing was working until he made a personal decision to make a change. He decided it was time to get healthy and try to feel better about himself and his new reality.
You may have seen Galloway on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars where he finished third place. He was also on the cover of Mens Health Magazine and named the publications’ 2014 “Ultimate Guy.” Galloway is a motivational speaker and personal trainer. The remarkable transformation of his body and attitude help inspire his fans, clients and followers.
Giving back to those around him who are in need, is another way Galloway stays strong and focused. No Excuses Charitable Fund, raises money and awareness for organizations that mean the most to Galloway including Operation Enduring Warrior and YMCA of Alabaster, AL. Galloway doesn’t let anything stand in his way and he trains like a machine. He says, his mission is not over, it has simply changed! This is why Noah Galloway is my inspiration this month.
