The woman who wouldn’t take no for an answer.

After a severe snowmobile accident in 2012, Una Fawns was left with a C6/7 Spinal Cord Injury and a partially paralysed diaphragm.  When Una first started with us at Aim2Walk she was very weak.  Each visit however, we see her making gains and getting stronger. Although she’s been told before, not to expect many physical gains, Una doesn’t take no for an answer and she pushes her therapists as hard as they push her!

This week was a big one for her! With the help of her therapist (and an exercise ball), she sat up on the plinth!  It takes a lot of core strength to do this, and this is the first time she’s tried it. Check out the video below.  Although it may seem simple, it’s a huge accomplishment for Una, and we are so proud of her hard work! She’ll be making espressos with JP in no time.
