Denmark’s Crown Prince promotes Electric Hockey

It’s like hockey on go carts. The original ice hockey for those in wheelchairs requires a lot of balance and strength to pull the sledge as well as all your weight. This indoor electric hockey seems much more practical for those with more muscle weakness such as Muscular Dystrophy or Cerebral Palsy. This specific chair is low to the ground and manoeuvred by a small hand control. The “stick” is mounted to the front of the chair which allows no need for arm strength.

Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederick and Princess Mary made a royal appearance in Toronto at Evergreen Brickworks last Friday. The Prince has long been an ambassador for electric hockey and hoping to bring it to Canada. They are also hoping to have electric hockey included in the 2020 Paralympic Games. Take a peek at the video’s and pass this on! If you’ve tried it or know someone who has, we’d love to hear from you!
