Last year JP and Matt were crazy enough to enter North America’s most challenging Tough Mudder event. Although the rest of us at Aim2Walk thought they were more then crazy to willingly partake in this 10-12 mile grueling obstacle course, somehow the rest of the Aim2Walk team will be dragged along this weekend for a group Tough Mudder “bonding” experience. Let’s cross our fingers that we will all make it out without any broken bones.
Incase your not sure what “Tough Mudder” is, it’s a hardcore, obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test your strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. The Toronto course is held at Mount St.Louis Moonstone, ski resort. We will be climbing walls, swimming through ice cold water, crawling under barbwire, all the while running through forests and up mountains. Anyone wanna join after reading that?
The general senses I’m hearing from the team is mixed emotions. Were all excited to test our physical strength and abilities however I think were all cringing inside at the thought of this 4 hour long trek.
Some of the event names include:
Fire in Your Hole
Electrical shock therapy
Again… anyone interested in joining the team after reading the event names? Although we electrically shock our clients every day to stimulate weak muscles, I’m pretty sure running through an obstacle with live electrical wires, while wet isn’t the smartest idea. Perhaps we can run around that event?
Being Tough Mudder is designed for the fittest elite athletes, we too thought we should step into training mode and prepare for the insanity. Here’s a sneak peak at our Aim2Walk Mudders Training hard.
Dickson will be joining us this year and i’m sure he’s been busy rock climbing to prepare.
Mark, a volunteer from last summer, will also be joining us. Apparently he’s a part of a regular Tough Mudder team and he has made the exception to partake in this event with Aim2Walk, I just hope we don’t slow him down to much.
This Sunday, August 17th is the big day. If the doors to the clinic are closed on Monday, it means, we didn’t make it out alive. Please say a little pray for us tonight before bed. Stay tuned for a few muddy pictures.
