Dreams Come True

Last Friday the Oklahoma Thunder basketball team played the Toronto Raptors. Emmanuel Mavridakis, who happens to be a big fan of basketball and of Oklahoma, made the trek from Montreal to Toronto to watch the game. Although Emmanuel knew he was going to see his favourite team play, he was in for a big surprise! The team including his favourite player Kevin Durant spent a few hours with him before the game.

Emmanuel is a 13 year old who was hit by a speeding car while he was ridding his ATV last July. His injuries have left him paralyzed from the waist down. You may have seen a previous post about Emmanuel, showing his recent therapy regiment at Aim2Walk. It’s important at this time in his recovery to have positive people supporting and inspiring him to keep pushing. KD has been his role model throughout his journey of recovery so this opportunity to meet him has been a dream come true.

It’s not everyday you get to hangout with your role model. Check out this article for more pictures and a video from Emmanuel’s special day.
